I love it when classical instruments gets abused. You can always suspect a bit of madness floating down the veins of classical musicians, and it’s always fascinating to hear what happens late at night when no one is watching those properly dressed classical musicians.
This kind of dark side of the musician, is fantastically showed by Pikara, the moniker of Swedish/Danish violin player Sara Johanne.
Her second album, Constellations, out with Aio Records is a brilliant, mostly instrumental album of looped violins, echoing through the deep corridors of classical music and gloomy experimental edges.
Instrument manipulation, gotta love it. In Constellation we get a lot of that, the more the merrier, ei?
