Hammocks and Honey are essentialy the Australian folktronica duo, of cellist/synth possesed (as they described it – not me) Prudence Rees-Lee and Alex Nosek.
Their 5 tracks debut EP, is out with Aussi micro indie label Special Award Records, on gold vinyl (!), limited to 250 copies.
Her voice is has a strong delivery, soaked in reverb and surrended to the lo-fi electronic bits and synths, while the melodies are dark-poppy.
Try and have a listen to the EP on their Soundcloud page, and be taken away by eighties electronics. Now that Ariel Pink is famous, these sounds are more legit then ever. For me, it always fashionable. Heck, we’re expecting a new album by Trembling Blue Stars after all…
