The first, is the new album by veteran Israeli free jazz saxophonist Albert Beger who is one of my most admired musicians on earth.
Why? Because he’s all about the constant search for inner truth, listen to his being, passionate about life and music, and he’s a vegan.
Last November, the mega-drummer and percussionst Gerry Hemingway played in Tel Aviv with Albert. The two had met for the first time and
improvised an amazing live set. We recorded it and the result is just phenomenal. Not easy listening,
yet a very interesting and emotional recording of two amazing musicians.
There’s Nothing Better To Do is Albert’s finest recording.
The second album we’re releasing tomorrow is Weight by my label partner Yoni Kretzmer, one of the biggest hopes of Israeli new/modern/free jazz.
In this album, Kretzmer takes his Aylerian tones and blows that horn with an amazing energy, while accompanied with one drummer and two double bass players.
serious stuff indeed.
Support the musicians and enjoy the music!
