Music and Gibran is a wonderful record I like listening to on nights like these, when it’s a bit chilly and summer hints that its on its way.
Late American actor and activist Rosko reads the poetry of Khalil Gibran with a mysterious, deep and dramatic voice. The musical accompaniment is provided by the wonderful John Berberian Ensemble who plays a great Lebanese music, traditional and jazz-psych mixed, in the east-meets-west style of Berberian’s music. The blend of reading and the music is beautiful. This was released in Verve in 68, get yourself a copy, it’s really beautiful.
