The fifth volume in the solo guitar albums series by Tompkins Square, is now out.
I remember couple of years ago, when I started exploring the world of solo acoustic guitar, I had three main goals. First one was to meet Glenn Jones, which I had the honor to play shoulder to shoulder with, in WFMU. The second goal was to meet Jack Rose which sadly didn’t happen (but I’m sure we’ll share a drink in about sixty years from now). The third goal was having a track in an Imaginational Anthem compilation.
Previous volumes (Released separately but now available on the label’s ltd. edition 6cds box) featured many stunning track and amazing musicians, and the new volume includes guitar god Steve Gunn, improv godfather Bill Orcutt and the album’s curator, fabulous guitarist Sam Moss (Read an interview with Sam here). Also includes other fine names such as Alexander Turnquist, Cam Deas, Will Stratton, Daniel Bachman, Eric Carbonara, Tom Lecky, Jordan Fuller, Danny Paul Grody and Nick Schillace.
Here you can listen to some of the tracks, and my very own new track, composed especially for this compilation and titled Rivers Gone Badly Wrong, featured as well.
