Happy birthday Ennio Morricone

I seriously can’t describe how rich were the last three years of my life, since I got more and more into Ennio Morricone’s music.

Naturally, me being me, I didn’t stop at his amazing soundtracks to Leone’s westerns and always looked for the ‘other’ stuff. I found a world of imaginary music that stands by its own, regardless of the films it was attached to. Countless amount of soundtracks, arrangements, parts. I’d love to sit in his brain for twenty minutes, to see what its like.
Today Ennio Morricone celebrates his birthday, and though I don’t do this often, I somehow feel the need to wish him a happy birthday and thank him for the music.

Here’s a random selection of beautiful pieces

Ennio Morricone – Dialoghi (from Via Mala)

Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai – Uno che grida amore
