Amy Whinehouse’s death reminded me of a record I’ve known for quite a while but didn’t play it for a long time – Meet Anna Black.
She was (and probably still is) a white female singer, with a black approach to life. Excellent songwriter that fusion jazz, blues and country. Sort of a Bobbie Gentry.
This album, Meet Anna Black, released in 1968, not sure if it was ever digitalized, but even if it didn’t – you can trust the web to provide you a vinyl rip somewhere.
Loretta Lynn and Amy Whinehouse fans – definitley check it out.
